  On Thursday August the 17th I dined at Harvey's in Alliston Ontario at approximately 8:30 pm. I entered the restaurant to find all of the chairs on the tables and noticed my shoes sticking to the floor. As I ordered I also noticed the unsafe amount of grease build up in the hoodvents and filters above the grills, and the extremely dirty condition of the kitchen area. The employees were extremely rude and unwelcoming. I waited ten minutes for my food only to have the employee who had just been discussing his taking out the garbage, while going through the motions of wiping up with a filthy cloth, handle my burger with his bare hands as he removed it from the grill. For all I know he had just been cleaning the bathrooms as well. The girl who garnished my burger was also rude and unwelcoming as she applied some yellow/brown lettuce to my burger. At least she wore gloves. Hungry and fed up I ate my burger in a rush to get out of this unsavoury atmosphere only to have an employee rudely tell me that I had ten minutes to finish my meal since they closed at 9 o'clock. After eating as fast as I could the employee turned off the lights in the restaurant at 8:55 leaving my friend and I to finish our meals in the dark. The following morning I woke up at 5am to nausea and vomiting almost certainly from the food I ate at that restaurant the night before. Whether it was from the expired garnishings or something on the hands of the employee who handled my food, I will never know. After this experience I will certainly never set foot in that or any other Harvey's again, and will tell others to do the same. I am also contemplating contacting the authorities about the disgusting state of the restaurant and kitchen facilities.
